Amanda Brugel

When she was a child she wanted to be the next big thing in her career, but a sudden growth spurt made it impossible. She was awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program which she completed at the age of 20 with a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. In the 20+ years since Brugel has been offered roles in more than 60 productions across both small and large screens drawing the most media attention after she was offered the part as Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the only Canadian actor for the season 1 of the show and was only seen occasionally.
